𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐁𝐘 𝐖𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐌𝐔𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄

An arrest has been made following last night’s deadly shooting at a residence in the 17800 block of Adlong Johnson Rd near US-90 in Crosby.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Maysie Murphy. The defendant has been identified as Courtney Smith, DOB 5/5/71.

Investigators say Smith called for service to the home and claimed she had killed her granddaughter and her boyfriend. When deputies arrived, they found Murphy shot to death inside the residence. Authorities said there was no male victim at the scene, and investigators do not believe Murphy was related to Smith.

Officials also stated Smith had called earlier in the day reporting she was “seeing demons.”

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and conducted their investigation. Smith has since been charged with Murder for her involvement in Murphy’s death and was booked into the Harris County Jail. Investigators said the two were acquaintances.
