Remember the garage burglary off Clay and Blalock early Saturday morning where a homeowner shot a Bandit during a break-in? Well, the Bandit was later found injured in a field near Clay and Gessner wearing the same clothing described that morning.
HFD transported the man to the hospital.
According to neighbors and Hood News Peeps in the area, the incident started around 6 AM when a homeowner went into his garage and noticed a broken window. The homeowner reportedly went back inside, grabbed his gun, and walked through the home into the garage where he came face-to-face with a man allegedly stealing tools.
During the confrontation, the homeowner shot the suspect, but the man still managed to run off before officers arrived.
At the time, HPD searched the area but could not locate him. Neighbors believed the suspect may have been connected to multiple garage burglaries that have been happening in the neighborhood over the last few weeks. Hood News Peeps say this was believed to be at least the third garage burglary in the area within the past two weeks.
One neighbor previously told Hood News:
“After I wrote you I decided to go out into my neighborhood on foot and knock on doors to let people know that we had a problem and that’s when I found out that other people had things stolen from their garages. Then a week later this happens.”
Looks like the suspect did not make it very far after the shooting and hopefully he changes his line of work!
