19-Year-Old Charged with Capital Murder After Teen Girl and Brother Killed in Northeast Harris County

Angel Javier Rodriguez, 19, has been charged with Capital Murder in connection with this morning’s double homicide in the 200 block of W. Canino Rd. He is in custody at the the Harris County Jail.
A 17 year-old girl and her 29 year-old brother were shot and killed during a domestic-related confrontation in Northeast Harris County around 10:50 AM.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the 17 year-old walked outside her trailer with her a toddler to hand the child to a family member when her ex-boyfriend appeared with a firearm.
Her older brother came outside and attempted to de-escalate the confrontation. Investigators believe Rodriguez shot both siblings before fleeing in a vehicle. The toddler was not harmed.
A description of Rodriguez and his vehicle was immediately shared with surrounding law-enforcement agencies. Officers with the Humble Police Department and Harris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 patrol deputies later located the vehicle in the 8800 block of Will Clayton Parkway. He was arrested without incident.
