A 20 year-old woman is in stable condition after being shot in the neck today after shots were fired outside a business along the Gulf Fwy. near Telephone Rd. and S. Lockwood Dr. in southeast Houston.
Police said the woman was sitting in the back seat of a vehicle parked next to a white SUV. A keyholder for a business went to check things out after receiving a call about people in the parking lot. He told investigators he heard gunshots and fired toward the vehicles.
The vehicle carrying the woman sped away. They crossed Gulf Fwy. and crashed near Lombardy St. The woman and the driver ran through nearby backyards. Officers later found the woman, but the driver and white SUV have not been located.
Investigators are still working to determine who fired first and whose bullet struck the woman. No charges have been filed.
