A mother is speaking out after her daughter was shot at while driving in the Southeast Houston area. The incident occurred as the young woman was driving along Telephone Road and preparing to turn left onto Fuqua. According to our Peep, her daughter noticed a white car in front of her, which moved into the right lane as they turned. The driver of the white car appeared to be driving slowly, and when her daughter looked over, the driver unexpectedly fired shots at her vehicle.
Fortunately, the young woman was able to speed away unharmed, but the shooting is part of a string of alarming incidents in the same area. Around the same time and location, near a Family Dollar store, a teenager was shot in the arm while sleeping at home. The teenager was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery but is expected to recover.
There have been additional reports of a white car involved in other similar shootings in the area, including an incident at a CVS on Blackhawk and Fuqua just two or three weeks ago. Police are investigating whether these shootings are connected.
Local authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue to investigate this series of disturbing events.
