Arrests Made in 2016 Fatal Shooting on McDaniel Street

Two men have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that happened nearly nine years ago. The victim, 34-year-old Emanuel Carrillo, was shot and killed in the driveway of a home at 1807 McDaniel St (near E Hardy and Crosstimbers) around 6:30 AM on May 21, 2016.

Investigators learned that a woman living at the home had been arguing with her ex-boyfriend. The situation escalated between two groups of people, leading to gunfire. Carrillo was shot multiple times and died at the scene. Another man was also wounded but survived after being taken to the hospital.

After years of investigation, Henry Nathan Ibanez, 29, and Eric Rios, 30, were identified as the suspects. Ibanez was arrested on November 5. Rios was charged on November 14 and arrested on November 18. Both men are charged with murder and booked into the Harris County Jail.

Nearly nine years after Carrillo’s death, the arrests have finally been made.
