An 18-year-old woman from North Carolina is now facing serious charges after authorities say she was part of a conspiracy to carry out a violent attack at Congregation Beth Israel in Houston.
According to court documents, the alleged plan was chilling: to “kill as many Jews as possible” by driving a vehicle into a congregation.
The suspect is being held on a $10 million bond, while two other individuals tied to the alleged plot have not yet been located.
The synagogue—the oldest Jewish congregation in Texas—temporarily closed its doors as the investigation unfolds.
