The Houston Police Department (HPD) is investigating a violent incident that began after a man driving a stolen Dodge Charger crashed into another motorist and fled the scene. The suspect reportedly ran on foot along the service road near the 11700 block of the Southwest Freeway.
While attempting to escape, the suspect tried to carjack someone in a red Hyundai. He shot the driver, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The suspect then successfully carjacked another vehicle—an Audi. The person inside the Audi was not injured, and the suspect fled the area in that vehicle.
HPD is actively searching for the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact HPD or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
