Charges Filed After Deadly Shooting at Acres Homes Airbnb; Second Suspect Still Sought

Remeber the shooting we covered in Acres Homes the night of November 21 on Orebo St? Unfortunately, the victim did not survive.
Charges have now been filed against one of the suspects involved in the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Kevin Fowler at an Airbnb-type rental in the 8000 block of Orebo around 10:30 PM.
Laderrick Dixon Jr., 21, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 177th Criminal District Court. He was already in the Harris County Jail on unrelated charges when investigators connected him to this case. (See mugshot below).
A second suspect, described only as a young, slim male, is still on the run. HPD also released surveillance images of him.
Investigators say the suspects went to a rental house looking for Dixon’s girlfriend. The property had two units, and they went to the wrong one—encountering Kevin instead. Believing he may have been involved with Dixon’s girlfriend, the suspects fired at Kevin’s vehicle as he was leaving. Kevin was struck, and three others in the vehicle were not injured. He was taken to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, where he died a few days later on November 24.
Anyone with information on the unidentified suspect is asked to contact HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
