Law Park II – Maintenance & Safety Concerns
6177 Scarlet Dr, Houston, TX 77048
A Hood News Peep, who coaches with the Southeast Raiders Little League and also helps with Southeast side baseball, is calling attention to long-standing issues at Law Park II (Hicks Fields). For years, the City has only cut the grass while other serious needs go unaddressed.
The baseball fields have grass in the infield and uneven ground, making it unsafe for kids to play. The football field, reserved for evening practices, has no working lights despite repeated requests for repairs—forcing children to practice in unsafe conditions after dark.
Although the park is tucked away, it is used year-round by local youth programs. All that’s being asked for is functioning lights and proper dirt maintenance so kids can safely play and practice.
Video evidence has been provided to document the park’s condition.
