2400 block of Eldridge Parkway near Westheimer on Houston’s westside.
HPD Westside Patrol units along with Vehicular Crimes Division are on scene conducting an investigation after a woman pedestrian was struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene. Sadly, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Suspect fled but was tracked down by Officers and is in custody. A Hood News Peep sent in this photo.
A Hood News Peep jumped into action after seeing the pedestrian lying in the street following the hit-and-run.
She says she told the young driver to stay put, but he refused. According to her, he said he was out on bond and then took off.
Thankfully, she was able to get his license plates and provide that information to officers. With that, HPD was able to track him down.
The Hood News Peep stayed on scene and performed CPR on the pedestrian while waiting for help to arrive.
She also shared how heartbreaking it was that this happened on Easter Sunday and even then he still chose not to do the right thing.
Thank God HPD got him
