Katy Fwy & Washington Ave | Houston, TX
Just after 12 AM, HPD received a call about a small BMW four-door sedan traveling the wrong way on the Katy Freeway. That vehicle collided head-on with a Cybertruck that was heading toward downtown.
After impact, the Cybertruck bounced off and hit an 18-wheeler traveling eastbound. The BMW caught fire. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Cybertruck was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The 18-wheeler driver and passenger were not injured and stayed at the scene to give statements.
HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division (VCD) is investigating the crash.
