Houston Police Lieutenant Arrested for Online Solicitation of a Minor

A Houston Police lieutenant has been arrested for sending sexually explicit images to an undercover detective posing online as a teenage girl.
Lt. Quoc Viet Ngo,50, was arrested Friday by Houston Police and the Harris County Precinct One Constable’s Office, as he drove to the home of a person he thought was a 15-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity with her.
The second-degree felony offense of online solicitation of a minor carries a penalty of two to 20 years in prison.
Ngo was charged as part of a joint investigation led by the Precinct One Constable’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
The unit is attached to the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
“Everyone is equal under the law and we appreciate the Houston Police Department’s active cooperation this case,” Harris County Constable Precinct One Alan Rosen said. “This is a reminder that child predators come from all parts of society and we will never stop doing all we can to protect children.”
Anyone who knows of inappropriate behavior by the defendant with children, is asked to contact Constable Precinct One’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit at 713-222-4929.
