HPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash at 9200 Westpark Drive around 6:40 a.m. on December 13.
The vehicle is described as a black or dark-colored pickup truck, with a # rectangular piece of plywood visible in its cab. Investigators believe the truck sustained damage to its front right light. A surveillance image of the vehicle in motion has been released to the public.
The victim, identified as 61-year-old Lilia Vazquez, was jogging westbound on the right shoulder of Westpark Drive near Jeanetta Drive when she was struck. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid, and Ms. Vazquez was pronounced deceased by paramedics at the scene.
The Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate the case. Anyone with information about the suspect vehicle or its driver is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
