Justice for Mitchell Levard Austin: 37-Year-Old Gunned Down in Columbus, TX – Police Searching for Suspects
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, at approximately 11:30 PM, the Columbus Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 1100 block of Walnut Street. When officers arrived, they found 37-year-old Mitchell Levard Austin of Columbus, suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to investigators, unknown suspect(s) fired multiple shots at the victim before fleeing the scene. Colorado County EMS transported the victim to Columbus Community Hospital, where he tragically died from his injuries.
Mitchell’s family has reached out and they want to get the word out and they want whoever did this to be held responsible.
