Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call for service at an apartment complex located at 8200 Sunbury Lane, near West Road and Highway 6 North.
When deputies arrived, they discovered an adult male with a stab wound who was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to preliminary reports, the unidentified man, who was possibly intoxicated, had been banging on the door and window of what deputies say was the wrong apartment. Two men inside the unit — who are related — called 911 during the initial disturbance.
Roughly 15 minutes later, the man reportedly forced his way inside through a window, leading to a violent altercation that ended with the man being stabbed to death. Detectives have not yet confirmed how many times he was stabbed or what kind of weapon was used.
Investigators believe the man may have been involved in other prior incidents at the same complex, though that remains under investigation. Crime Scene and Homicide Detectives are currently on scene collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.
