Ashanti’s mother says they met with Texas EquuSearch yesterday while waiting for an officer to arrive.
Ashanti Allen has been missing for over 48 hours. She was last seen in the area of Main and Kirby.
According to her mother, she and her son went to a residence after Ashanti’s phone pinged in that area. While there, an individual believed to be the last person to see Ashanti arrived driving her vehicle.
Her mother asked where Ashanti was and how he got the vehicle but did not get clear answers.
While waiting for police, the individual went inside, came back out with a phone believed to be Ashanti’s, and left before officers arrived.
She stated:
“I snatched my keys off his belt and kept asking where is my daughter. He went inside his mom’s house, got the phone, and was able to get away. We called HPD for a welfare check, but it took 3 hours for them to come.”
The phone later pinged near a nearby park but was not located and is now inactive.
Ashanti’s mother says she has video of the interaction and has requested surveillance footage from a nearby apartment complex. She also reports a prior domestic violence incident involving the same individual.
