Angel Gomez Montanez, who was wanted for the murder of 18-year-old Christopher Rodriguez Lara, has been taken into custody this evening.
The incident occurred on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at approximately 10:11 PM in the 17000 block of Butte Creek Road near Kuykendahl and FM-1960. Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call and found Rodriguez Lara unresponsive with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from an argument over rent between Montanez and Rodriguez Lara. A warrant was issued for Montanez’s arrest shortly after the investigation began.
