A resident at The Retreat on Rosslyn, located at 5801 N. Houston Rosslyn Rd., is raising concerns about conditions inside their apartment.The resident says they have lived there since June and have caught six rats inside the apartment, with more reportedly still running around. According to the resident, maintenance covered holes with pieces of wood and metal plates, but the rats continued getting inside. The resident also provided photos of damage they say was caused by the rodents.
Other reported problems include a bedroom window that will not open and an air conditioner that does not cool the apartment properly. On some days, the resident says the apartment reaches more than 80 degrees.
Two office employees reportedly tried to help the family move to another apartment, but the resident says the move has continued to be delayed. The resident also says the property manager refused to provide the company’s corporate contact information.
The resident is especially concerned because two young children live in the apartment and worries about the potential health and safety risks associated with rodents getting into food or other areas of the home.
