A local business is warning the community after a man entered their shop claiming to be part of a children’s ministry called “From the Ashes.” He was carrying what appeared to be a Bible and said he was fundraising by selling spaghetti plates for $10. He identified himself as John and provided the phone number 254-212-0501.
Staff members were preparing to place an order and support the cause, but after doing some research, they came across a post from the Elk City Police Department raising concerns about the same individual. The business has since contacted both Elk City PD and Houston Police, who are actively looking into the matter.
They are asking the public to remain cautious and to avoid giving this individual any money. Please share this information to help protect others in the community.
