Trayvon Lockridge Sentenced to 15 Years in Aggravated Robbery Case Involving 69-Year-Old Florentino Hurtado
In the aggravated robbery case involving 69-year-old Florentino Hurtado, an elderly man with dementia who was attacked in December 2023 after mistakenly attempting to open the wrong car door, the suspect Trayvon Lockridge appeared today for a pre-sentencing investigation hearing in the 262nd Criminal District Court in Harris County.
During the hearing, both the prosecution and the defense presented their evidence. Witnesses included Hurtado’s daughter, granddaughter, and the HPD Detective assigned to the case. The defense also called Lockridge’s grandmother to testify.
The court also reviewed surveillance footage showing Lockridge returning multiple times to strike Mr. Florentino—delivering an estimated 15 to 16 blows—even after going through the Victims pockets and stealing his phone.
Mr. Florentino was hospitalized after the incident due to head injuries. According to family testimony, his overall health has continued to decline over the past two years. They did not attribute this to a single cause but noted that his condition has worsened since the assault.
After considering all testimony and evidence, Judge Lori Chambers Gray ruled that probation was not an option due to the severity of the offense. Lockridge was sentenced to 15 years in prison for Aggravated Robbery.
