The two goats that were stolen from the agricultural barn at B.T. Washington High School have been FOUND.
The theft happened in the early morning hours between 2–3 AM on January 23, 2026. Surveillance video shows the suspects entered the Ag Barn on W. Canino Road near I-45 and Gulf Bank in Acres Homes, cutting the lock on the pedestrian gate. The entire theft took about 10 minutes.
The goats belonged to two graduating seniors, both enrolled in the school’s Ag program.
• One student was showing for the very first time.
• The second student had been disqualified last year for reasons beyond his control and was determined to come back and show again this year.
Because the theft occurred after validation, both seniors were initially told they would not be able to compete, making this loss especially devastating during their final year of high school.
Ag teachers immediately contacted other students and reported the incident to HISD Police, who reviewed the surveillance footage and completed a report.
After days of uncertainty, the goats have now been recovered, bringing much-needed relief to the students, their families, and the Ag program. Thank God, the goats have been found, and we hope that the seniors are able to still participate!
