A Hood News Peep living at Victoria Village Apartments, located at 5710 Glenmont Drive in Houston, reached out, asking for advice.
According to the Hood News Peep, she fell behind on her rent and was told by the leasing office that her air conditioning would not be fixed or restored until her rent was paid in full.
The Hood News Peep says she explained that two children, ages 5 and 6, live inside the apartment and that she also has a dog. She alleges the apartment remained without working AC for approximately one week despite repeatedly asking management to restore it.
She says she contacted the City of Houston and filed a complaint regarding the conditions at the apartment complex and received a case number.
The Hood News Peep states that management repeatedly came to the apartment in the mornings, knocking loudly, yelling and banging on the windows. She says management also demanded that she turn over their apartment keys and leave.
According to the Hood News Peep, she refused to turn over the keys and told management she had not received an eviction order from a judge.
She says she informed management that she would be able to pay her rent on Saturday when she was paid, but alleges management would not agree to wait.
On September 11, 2026, the Hood News Peep documented the conditions inside the apartment, including the temperature, and says a lock had also been placed on her door.
The situation allegedly escalated again on September 14.
According to the Hood News Peep, at approximately 9:30 AM, she was bathing her dog when two women she identifies as being associated with the apartment office entered her apartment without her permission.
Video provided shows a confrontation involving the Hood News Peep and multiple women she identifies as being associated with apartment management.
The Hood News Peep says the confrontation was connected to the ongoing dispute involving rent, the air conditioning, access to the apartment and management’s attempts to have the occupants leave.
Later that same day, at approximately 7:10 PM, the Hood News Peep says she discovered that her dog had been removed from inside her apartment.
According to the Hood News Peep, video from the encounter captures a woman she identifies as being with apartment management acknowledging that she took the dog out of the apartment and placed the dog in its cage outside the unit.
The Hood News Peep says she did not give anyone permission to enter her apartment and remove her dog.
She says she is concerned about losing her dog and describes the pit bull as friendly with adults, children and neighbors.
The Hood News Peep says she has additional videos documenting encounters with management, the conditions inside her apartment and the ongoing dispute.
