Will Clayton Pkwy and Village Tower Drive in Humble
A DPS trooper has been involved in a shooting and a 17-year-old male was transported to the hospital for a gunshot wound. DPS says the trooper pulled over a car on Will Clayton Parkway around 11 AM for suspected drug activity.
During a pat-down, the trooper felt what seemed to be a gun on the 17-year-old male passenger. The teen ran but turned back and reached for his waistband, prompting the trooper to fire, hitting him in the abdomen or upper body.
The trooper gave first aid until EMS arrived, and the teen was taken to the hospital, where he’s reported to be conscious and talking. He is expected to survive. A pistol was found at the scene.
A female driver was detained as a witness, and the teen is expected to face charges. The trooper is on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
Will Clayton Parkway remains closed for now. The east and west bound lanes of Will Clayton Pkwy are currently shut down. Avoid the area if possible or expect delays.
