Worker Injured in Construction Incident at Historic Downtown Houston Building
A construction worker was injured today at the historic Battelstein’s building on Main Street near Rusk. The Houston Fire Department responded to the call around 12:20 PM, initially reported as a high-rise incident. Upon arrival, the call was upgraded to a rescue operation after reports of possible entrapment.
Firefighters searched the building and found a worker injured in an external elevator. According to HFD, concrete from the eighth floor fell onto the elevator, causing the injury. The worker was taken to the hospital in stable condition. No one else was hurt. The investigation is ongoing. Here are images sent in by Peeps!
