Today, the League City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU), with support from the Houston Police Department’s Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT), announced the arrests of nine people connected to the aggravated robbery that took place on July 28, 2025, at Sunny’s Jewelry and Watch Repair inside H-E-B on South Gulf Freeway. Authorities say the group is also linked to multiple similar robberies in the Houston area.
Eight suspects were arrested across Houston on August 28, 2025, during coordinated operations, and a ninth suspect was taken into custody on September 3, 2025.
Arrested individuals include:
Tommie Coleman, 20, of Houston — Aggravated Robbery ($1M bond); Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
Jerell Davis, 33, of Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
Shannon Evans, 46, of Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
Laquincya Johnson, 20, of Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
Monica Thompson, 34, of Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
Patricia Thompson, 65, of Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
Valencia Thompson, 51, of Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
Vanessa Thompson, 24, of Houston — Aggravated Robbery (No bond); Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (No bond)
Aron Wilson, 33, of Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
The identification and arrests of these suspects came after a comprehensive investigation by League City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. The case remains active, and investigators noted that additional charges may be forthcoming. The department extended its gratitude to the Criminal Apprehension Team, which includes members of the Houston Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the FBI’s Houston Office, for their role in assisting with these arrests. Special recognition was also given to Judge Jeth Jones of the 122nd Judicial District Court of Galveston County for his support in issuing multiple search and arrest warrants.
