2-Year-Old Egypt Killed in Hit-and-Run

UPDATE: 2-Year-Old Egypt Killed in Hit-and-Run at 3400 Ocee — Suspect Still Not Identified
We are heartbroken to share an update on the tragic incident reported yesterday. The 2-year-old girl who was struck and killed in a crash at 3400 Ocee has been identified as Egypt. Her mother is a Hood News Peep and is sharing a little bit about what happened.
When the accident happened, an ambulance was called, but in a desperate attempt to save her, Egypt’s mother drove her to the hospital herself while her father performed CPR in the car. Despite their heroic efforts, Egypt was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
Egypt was full of life—beautiful, smart, and witty. “She was my world,” her mother said. “My everything.”
Midwest officers and HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division are currently investigating the case as a fatal hit-and-run. The person responsible for Egypt’s death has not yet been identified. However, the apartment complex where the crash occurred is equipped with surveillance cameras, and investigators are reviewing the footage in hopes of finding answers.
We send our deepest condolences and prayers to Egypt’s family during this unimaginable time. We will continue to follow this case and share any updates as they become available.
