Montgomery County came together to honor 18-year-old Reese Manchaca

Reese Manchaca was found deceased following the devastating flooding in the Texas Hill Country. She had been with three of her friends at a cabin near Hunt, Texas when they were swept away during the flood. One of her friends was found deceased and her other two friends are still missing.

Today law enforcement officers escorted Reese’s body back to Montgomery County so her family could lay her to rest. Along the route — including FM 1314 and Highway 99 — dozens of community members gathered to show their support. Many stood with flag and signs to pay their respects to Reese and her grieving family. Strangers, classmates, neighbors, and officers alike stood united in solidarity.

Please continue to keep Reese’s loved ones, the families of the two missing teens, and everyone impacted by this tragedy in your prayers.
