Woman Arrested for Running Over Kitten in Incident Captured on Video.

A woman accused of abandoning a kitten and running over it with her pick-up truck as she drove away was arrested today and charged with cruelty to an animal, Harris County Constable Precinct One Alan Rosen announced. Lucie Siewe, 49, was arrested at her home in Humble by deputies with Constable Precinct One’s Animal Cruelty Unit in coordination with the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The kitten was left along a road near Lake Houston in late July. As the black Ford 150 pick-up truck pulled away, it ran over the kitten, which suffered broken bones and internal injuries. The incident was captured on video by a witness. “There is a right way and a wrong way to treat animals and this way was not only wrong, but criminal,” Constable Alan Rosen said. “We know that for many people, pets are family and this should have never happened. If she did not want the kitten, there were plenty of ways to put it up for adoption.” Now just over three months old, the kitten is recovering after surgery and other treatment with the Houston SPCA.
The defendant is charged with two misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty in the incident, which occurred July 29 near FM 2100 and Crosby Huffman Road. If you are aware of any animal cruelty, contact the Houston SPCA at 713-869-SPCA or email info@houstonspca.org
