RESIDENTS SAY THEIR WATER WELLS ARE PUMPING SAND
Hood News Peeps living on Mesquite St., Brooklyn, Collins, and Gulf Bank in the 77093 area are reporting serious problems with their water wells. They say the wells still run, but the water coming out is full of sand.
Not only is the water is not safe to drink, peeps tell us that when they flush their toilets, sand comes through the lines. People who have tried rebuilding or installing new water wells say they still end up with the same problem — sand in the water. This is a financial setback for them and and puts them right back at square one.
Peeps o say they’ve contacted the county for help but haven’t received solutions. They’re asking for clean, reliable water, just like the nearby streets that already have public water lines. Residents want those water lines extended to their area as well.
