Traffic Safety Alert – US 290 near Hager Rd
A large hydraulic roller attachment fell off a work truck and was left in the roadway on the US 290 frontage road near Hager Road, just past the bridge heading toward Houston.
A couple traveling in that direction noticed the heavy equipment in the road and attempted to report it before anyone was hurt. Unfortunately, before it could be removed, a young woman struck the object with her vehicle.
Police were contacted, and the woman was checked on at the scene. Thankfully, she did not suffer serious injuries—only a bruised arm. It could have been much worse.
