SWATTING INCIDENT REPORTED IN CANYON LAKES AT STONEGATE

A Hood News Peep says their home in the Canyon Lakes at Stonegate subdivision had a heavy law enforcement presence and an ambulance respond after authorities received a call reporting a violent situation inside the home.

Deputies responded and secured the scene while investigating the report, and one person was temporarily detained during the process.

The family says the report was completely false and appears to be a case of swatting, when someone uses spoof numbers to make fake emergency calls to trigger police response. The incident is currently under investigation.
