The biological aunt of the 13-year-old girl who was pronounced deceased Thursday after emergency personnel responded to a possible medical emergency has reached out in hopes of seeking answers about what happened.
According to the girl’s aunt, the child was in foster care at the time of her death. The family says the girl’s biological mother was not notified until Friday evening, when she received the news over the phone.
The family says CPS has not provided them with any additional information and that the child’s caseworker has not returned the biological mother’s calls. They are also seeking information about funeral arrangements so the girl’s biological family can attend her services and lay her to rest.
