A fifth suspect has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of Miguel “Mickey” Gonzalez Jr., 18, which occurred around 2:10 p.m. on March 1, 2025, at 8301 Willow Place Drive.
Aniyah Sonya Martinez, 20, has been charged with capital murder and booked into the Harris County Jail.
Previously charged in the case are J’lon Dakarai Griffin, 19, Andres Garcia, 20, and Joshua Richards, 17, all facing capital murder charges. An additional 16-year-old male was referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation on a capital murder charge. Juvenile names and photos are not released.
Investigators say Miguel Gonzalez Jr. was lured to the apartment complex under the belief he was purchasing items, then robbed at gunpoint and shot. He was found unresponsive in the courtyard with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other males were wounded and transported to a hospital in stable condition.
Miguel’s mother, Nancy Ramos, has been fighting tirelessly for her son’s justice, becoming a strong advocate and making it clear she will never stop fighting for Mickey.
