Bat colony at apartment complex raises concerns for residents and pets

A Hood News Peep at Woods on LaMonte Apartments is raising concerns about hundreds of bats flying around the property every evening and morning.
According to the Hood News Peep, bats appear to be living inside the attics and siding of several apartment buildings. One bat was allegedly picked up in a dog’s mouth, creating additional concerns about possible rabies exposure. The apartment management has been notified several times, but the bat colony remains.
The property is located at 4800 LaMonte Ln, near the intersection of LaMonte Lane and Watonga Blvd, close to the Pinemont Dr bridge over White Oak Bayou.
If your pet that has had direct contact with a bat, please take you pet to a veterinarian as soon as possible.
