CHARGES FILED – TWO DEAD IN FIERY CRASH ON KATY FREEWAY
Charges have been filed against 21-year-old Ariel Perry Stewart in connection with a fatal crash that occurred around 1:15 AM on October 17 at 2100 Katy Freeway (West Interstate 10).
Stewart is charged with two counts of Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle in the 337th Criminal District Court.
According to HPD Vehicular Crimes investigators, a gray Tesla Model Y and a silver Nissan Sentra were traveling eastbound when the Tesla’s driver failed to control her speed and slammed into the Nissan. The impact caused the Nissan to spin out, strike a barrier, and catch fire.
Both the male driver and female passenger in the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
A 23-year-old female passenger in the Tesla was taken to the hospital. Stewart, who showed signs of intoxication, was taken into custody and charged after consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
