CONSTABLE ASSIGNS ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL TO REMOVE REPEAT VIOLENT OFFENDERS FROM NORTH HARRIS COUNTY

The Special Operations Unit (S.O.U.) was founded and created in 2016 by
Constable Mark Herman to support multiple divisions and units within the Constable’s Office.
The current unit is comprised of (10) ten deputy Constables that all stay together as a group when policing in communities.
The S.O.U. is designed to detect, deter, and proactively respond to serial part 1 crimes, primarily the offenses of burglary and robbery, in and around our communities throughout Precinct 4.
The S.O.U.’s duties include improving mobility throughout the precinct, curbing the delivery of narcotics through uniformed interdiction and providing uniformed presence during the execution of search and arrest warrants conducted by Precinct 4’s Criminal Investigations Division.
The S.O.U. is also available to supplement patrol responsibilities as needed. In addition, the S.O.U. may be called upon to conduct other special assignments as needed by the department, such as arresting violent offenders with outstanding warrants within communities.
“The success of this unique unit warrants the addition of a 2nd Special Operations team, which new personnel have already been trained and assigned, and are already in a community near you!” Said Constable Mark Herman.
