Convicted murderer and fugitive Elvio Mancebowas captured in Brooklyn, New York.
Mancebo was charged with capital murder in Harris County in 2017. He later fled after failing to appear for sentencing in 2023.
Thanks to outstanding teamwork among federal and local law enforcement agencies, Mancebo is now back in custody.
Agencies involved include the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force/Homeland Security Task Force FIST, U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force Teams 2 and 3, DEA Houston Division–Galveston HIDTA, which provided intelligence support, FBI Houston, FBI Newark, FBI New York and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
