Harris County, Texas Sheriff’s Office…

“It is with the sincerest, deepest and most profound sorrow that I’m writing this post…So many brokenhearted people, so much profound loss, in so short a time.
Since February 1st 2025 numerous Harris County, Texas Sheriff’s Office current and recently retired Deputy Sheriff’s have lost their lives.
In the last 10 days, three of those Deputies, committed suicide. Recently retired Deputy Sheriff William Bozeman, was tragically the most recent. Passing away within the last 24 hours.
Such heavy losses in such a short amount of time, will certainly wiegh upon every Harris County Sheriff’s Office employee, their families and friends.
Like so many, I am truly at a loss today. Every person who currently wears or have ever worn a badge knows, this job coupled with the stressors of family, bills, friendships and all the dynamics that come with, can become burdensom. Frustration, anxiety and depression can come together to take all sense of hope away from us.
This cannot be allowed to stand. Multiple Law Enforcement Suicides, localized in one department, in one geographical area, in a short span of time cannot be toned down, ignored and swept aside.
It is self evident, we have a serious, ruthless and tenacious problem. I say “we” because this has reached the point where, no one person, group or organization can solve it. We must all come together, differences between damned.
I’m absolutely one hundred percent willing to help in any way possible. I am willing to give whatever I can, to help. Every law enforcement agency in Harris County should be taking notice and responding to this series of devastating tragedies.
The profound loss is encroaching throughout all of Law Enforcement as a whole, throughout Harris County, as we all try to make some semblance of understanding from it all.
No matter what is said or done and by whom, this cannot be ignored. More than twice our Fallen Law Enforcement Officers from in the Line of Duty Deaths, are from suicide.
Its time, Ladies and Gentlemen. It’s beyond time. We must set all the BS aside. All the politics and rhetoric. We have to help one another, stand back up. If we fail to do this, it’s on us.
We must work together or we will most certainly perish together.” – Rex Evans
