Homeless Woman Led HPD Police to Human Remains on North Side
Around 9 AM this past Saturday (August 23), HPD Officers were called to the corner of McIntosh and Atlantic after someone reported a human skull sitting out with trash. This area is close to North Main and I-45.
When Officers arrived, they confirmed the skull was on top of discarded items (mattress etc) Witnesses told them that a homeless woman had been seen carrying it around before leaving it there.
That day Peeps had already started receiving messages, with one of them telling me that she was even seen her walking around with the skull on a stick. Check your ring cams Peeps!
Officers later located the woman, and she led them to another spot where more skeletal remains were found. An anthropologist with the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences collected the remains for examination.
HPD says the identity, gender, and cause of death are pending autopsy results. This case is still under investigation. Here are images that were sent in by a Hood News Peep
