Homicide Investigation – 6401 Deihl Street
Second location is W Tidwell and TC Jester
This morning HPD Officers from North Division responded to a shooting call at 6401 Deihl Street, Apartment 1301. The call came in at 11:47 AM, and HPD officers arrived within three minutes.
According to investigators, a woman attempted to drive a young man who had been shot to Doctors Hospital on Tidwell. She didn’t make it that far and stopped at a gas station on West Tidwell and TC Jester and called for help. Unfortunately, he did not survive. The Houston Fire Department medics pronounced the man deceased in the back of her vehicle at 11:56 AM.
Preliminary details suggest two young men, both in their late teens to early 20s, were meeting at the apartment for some type of business deal when an argument escalated. During the confrontation, one of the men allegedly grabbed a pistol and shot the other. Police recovered one firearm and narcotics at the scene and believe additional weapons may still be inside the apartment.
Investigators have made contact with the suspected shooter by phone and are working to obtain a full account of what led up to the deadly incident. At this time, it is unclear whether the individuals involved lived at the apartment. Police are still determining the exact nature of their relationship.
