A man in his 20s died after a shooting late last night in west Houston.
HPD Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at approximately 10:20 PM last night on South Kirkwood Rd near Westheimer.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his 20s unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
Investigators say the victim and the suspect were acquaintances who became involved in an argument before the shooting occurred.
The suspect remained at the scene and waited for officers to arrive. He was taken into custody without incident. Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Unit investigators continued processing the scene and gathering evidence throughout the night.
The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office removed the victim’s body from the scene at approximately 3:15 AM.
The investigation remains ongoing.
