On March 12, 2021, HPD Officers responded to reports of a man found unresponsive behind a residence on the 800 block of Green Meadow Lane in Acres Homes. William ‘Bill’ Satterfield was found by Officers deceased from a gunshot wound with concrete mix present on his upper body and a six inch piece of wood was lodged in his throat.
Bill’s sister, Tracina reached out that year and she shared with us what happened to Bill. She was the one that found her brother deceased. She and I have talked, and in our conversations, she mentioned that a man that was present at the scene was believed to be the killer, but he was never arrested. Imagine finding your brother deceased in a backyard and the killer is still at the scene and there is not much you can do. They have been patiently waiting for almost 3 years to get justice for Bill.
I just recieved an update from Bill’s sister. It’s been almost 3 years and finally because of extensive DNA testing, evidence linked Wallick Thompson to Bill’s murder! Wallick Thompson has been identified through DNA evidence and is wanted for his role in the murder of William “Bill” Satterfield. Finally!!!!
