Polk County Sheriff’s Office posted the following images after investigators uncovered what authorities described as a large indoor marijuana grow operation located off of 59 just outside the Livingston city limits.
The investigation began after nearby residents complained about a strong Mary Jane smell coming from the area along with suspicious activity involving frequent traffic at all hours. Neighbors reportedly told investigators they noticed vans and box trucks coming and going from the property, especially during the early morning hours.
On May 5, 2026, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, along with State CID, responded to the complaints and made contact with Elier Jimenez, identified by authorities as a Cuban national living at the residence.
After executing a search warrant, investigators said they discovered a large indoor marijuana cultivation setup spread across multiple buildings on the property. Authorities reported finding more than 1,500 marijuana plants inside.
Jimenez was charged with possession of marijuana between 50 and 2,000 pounds, which is a second-degree felony under Texas law.
