Suspect Arrested, Another Wanted in Fatal Shooting of Teen on Hammerly Blvd

A 16-year-old female suspect has been arrested, and 17-year-old Joshua Garcia is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Abraham Choukair, which occurred on July 20 at 8800 Hammerly Blvd. Garcia is charged with murder and remains at large. The female, whose name is not being released due to her age, is facing a capital murder charge.

Choukair was found shot in a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe Garcia and the female were involved, with Garcia fleeing the scene.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Joshua Garcia is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
