On July 14, 2025, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the Ulta Beauty store located in the 19500 block of the North Freeway in reference to a shoplifting incident.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that a female suspect had concealed merchandise valued at over $800.00 and exited the store without paying. The suspect then fled the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Video surveillance captured clear images of the suspect, who was later identified as Cynthia Bentancourt, a convicted felon. Her identification was made possible with the help of Grizzy’s Hood News and their large social media following.
Following a thorough investigation, criminal charges were accepted and an arrest warrant was issued.
On Saturday, August 2, 2025, Constable Mark Herman’s Special Operations and Canine Unit located Bentancourt at a motel in the 8100 block of the Eastex Freeway. She was taken into custody without incident during a successful warrant service.
