UPDATE: REPORTED ANIMAL CRUELTY NEAR HIGHWAY 288 AND AIRPORT BLVD – HOUSTON, TXI wanted to provide an update regarding the dog that was reported being kept inside a small cage for extended periods of time near Highway 288 and Airport Blvd.
Both the Houston Police Department (HPD) and BARC have been out to the location to investigate the situation.
Unfortunately, authorities have not been able to locate or identify an actual owner of the dog.
Meanwhile, the dog is STILL sitting inside that cage.
This is absolutely heartbreaking and frustrating. I appreciate HPD and BARC responding to the concerns, but the fact remains that this poor animal is still in the same situation that was originally reported.
According to the initial report, this dog has allegedly been kept in that small cage day after day for months.
The biggest concern is the welfare of this animal. If no owner can be located, what happens next? How long is this dog supposed to remain confined inside that cage?
Animals cannot speak for themselves. They depend on people to protect them, and this dog deserves proper care, adequate space, and a safe environment. also a huge shout out to the concern, citizen who reached out and who continues to try to get help for this Dawg by calling authorities daily. What is it gonna take to get this dog some help? I’ve reached out to several parties and no luck either.
