On Wednesday in the early morning hours, we reported that a pedestrian was struck by a hit-and-run driver off Eastex Service Rd near Hopper Rd. Just hours before, on Tuesday night, a pedestrian was transported to the hospital with critical injuries after Good Samaritans found him and pulled over to assist. The driver who struck him fled. We didn’t know who this person was, but his family has come forward because they need the community’s help.

Jose Berrios’s family has reached out to ask for the community’s help in identifying the hit-and-run driver who left this kind young man in a hospital fighting for his life. Please review cameras from Wednesday night, April 24th, for Jose and his family. Jose is fighting for his life and was left with head injuries and multiple fractures and has undergone surgery. Please help get this young man answers. Our prayers are with him to pull through and recover from this.

I want to thank the Hood News Peep who sent a picture of what Jose was wearing because his family still hadn’t found them. They didn’t know what happened to him until today. Jose never came home. I guess somebody showed them the video, and they learned about us, and just to get out of doubt, I was able to share just the clothing portion, and she knew that was him. His aunt was able to begin her search at the hospital. The pic was taken of only his clothes, not a graphic pic. Thank you for the thoughtfulness, sir.
