39-Year-Old Bradley Zarco Receives 5-Year Federal Sentence in Major Mail-Theft and Credit-Card Fraud Case

39 year-old Bradley Kane Zarco, has been sentenced to federal prison for his role in a large mail-theft and credit-card fraud scheme, per the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Zarco admitted that he stole mail containing new credit cards and bank statements. He then used that info to activate the cards, raise credit limits, and change account details. The stolen cards were used to buy merchandise, gift cards, cash, and other items.
Over about six months, the group activated at least 120 stolen credit cards and caused roughly $1 million in losses to Chase Bank.
A federal judge sentenced him to 60 months (5 years) in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. The judge noted Zarco’s long criminal history, including past violent offenses and identity theft.
Several others involved in the scheme had already pleaded guilty and been sentenced, and all were ordered to pay back $839,555.75 to Chase Bank.
Zarco remains in jail until he’s transferred to a federal prison. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service does not play! Mail Bandits, be warned!
