Man Found Dead with Legs on Fire on Astoria Boulevard in Southeast Houston
HPD is investigating the death of a man found around 2 PM on Sunday (June 😎 at 11800 Astoria Boulevard.
The man’s identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD officers and HFD personnel responded to reports of a deceased male in a large field at the location. Witnesses stated they saw the man with his lower legs on fire and attempted to help extinguish the flames. HFD arrived and successfully put out the fire, but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An electric bicycle and gas can were found nearby. The circumstances surrounding the man’s death — including how the fire started — remain under investigation by the HPD Homicide Division, the HFD Arson Division, and the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
